Friday April 29th " Thar she blows"
We had 10 riders turn out for exercise in the wind. 16mph wind plus gusts that went higher. A big welcome back to Fran,we also had Cindy,Olga, and Kathy. The guys were Carl,Duke,Rich,JohnV who's doing a great job with the picture taking, and myself. As you can see in the photos the group maintained a nice pace line and were very alert as Duke had a front wheel blowout which we all heard and quickly stopped as a group so the repair could be made. The repair report: one man,two tubes, one CO2 cartriage,no laughs for the ladies. There was a nice break at the bakery, sitting in the sun.Jukka, I am sorry I almost forgot you, folks Jukka is back with a vengence, riding as strong as I've ever seen him and smiling from ear to ear while doing so.We've been riding strong so next week I'll call rides as c- pace.Anyone who has a particular ride in mind please make a suggestion,I need our friend Carol back ,she kept my ride selection from being boring. The last couple weeks have been fun and I believe the start to what is going to be a good riding.Wish everyone a good weekend and encourage all to make comments on the blog. Bill Almost forgot, 27.9 miles in 3hours 1 minute, good for riding in that wind.

Friday April22 "What was I Thinking"
Today started at St. Peters with one of my 'better' safety talks that two new riders immediately left the group so we rode as nine. From Team Evesham were Allison,Niles,Rich, and Ross, and from the d riders Cruzz'n Chris T.,Eloise and Carl,John V,and myself. Lost 2 people outside of Vincetown but they found us at Southampton Muni. Bldg. which was closed for the holiday thus no indoor plumbing.Headed to Nixon's on Bighill Rd.going uphill with the wind in our faces(windshifted from day before). After break at Nixon's a rider had a mechanical problem, they had put their gloves on backwards.Things were uneventfull on Hawkins Rd. and thru Medford until Mill St. when I heard a familiar voice behind me but not part of the ride(I thought Billy cut back on the bourbon your hearing voices of people who aren't there),and there was Maggie hanging out the side window of a sharp yellow Mustang coupe calling "hello!".Now not only was I hearing but I was seeing people who weren't there.Just as I thought I might have to give up boubon (pity the thought)Cruzz'n Chris called back "Hi Maggie".I clocked 28.4 miles in 2hrs. 50minutes.
The pace got away from me today,in the future I will concentrate and talk more about a pace line. Wish everyone a Happy Holiday weekend. Bill

Creek Road encounter
Driving home about 11:30 this morning I spotted Cindy and Pat cycling north on Creek Road. We all pulled over and chatted. Then I remember I had my camera in the car. Here they are with llamas in the background.
Half an hour later, Herb and I were driving along Mill Rd. and passed Bill's group on Mill Rd heading toward St. Peter's.

April 21st " Gone With The Wind" by I'm no Brett
Mark this date on your calander as the day the weatherman got right, windy, windy, and some strong gusts of wind. Six of us went with the odds that the forecast would be wrong and we lost, the group consisted of Kathy 'the jinx'B., Olga, and for the first time this season Cindy, then Duke,Rich, and myself.
The wind was to much ,we did 9 miles in44 minutes , but it felt like 15 miles,we all agreed it was a work out.

A gang of six today,Kathy B.,Olga,Rich C.,JohnD.,JohnV,and myself.Weather threathened from the start and afew raindrops fell as we approached Seneca HS on Carranza Rd.. Short stop at Nixon's and the rain stopped having barely made the road wet. Here's the good part,my front tire went flat soooo, four men, three tubes, four co2 cartridges, and two hand pumps latter I was "back in the saddle again".Stop laughing Ladies!Someone mentioned"Lucky it wasn't the back tire",KB sometimes the truth hurts. We just beat a slight rainfall as we retuned after 28miles in three hours 26 minutes.

John V photos of Friday Ride from St Peters
Maggie advises: Click on the pics to see them larger.
John V wrote, " Bill did a fine job of leading this Friday. 11.8 mph average on this 30 mile ride. Just-in-time rest room break at Shamong Wawa. One break-away along the golf course which was much longer than I remembered. Very nice route through many housing developments. Awesome McMansions. Nancy pointed to 8 deer at the front of a house that sat close to the road."

Friday - From St. Peters (from Eloise)
Yes Maggie a blog would be nice.
Today Carl and I rode with Bill and others. Enjoyed the ride through more developments than usual because of the wind. The bathroom and rest stop was at Shamong Wawa. The tulips, forsythia and hyacinths along the way were beautiful. The infamous turtle was on the beach as usual.I even dressed properly (not too warm or cold)

Friday - From St. Peters (from Bill)
Hi Maggie,Talked to the group about a blog, asking people to contribute their two cents worth so let's see if we get something going.John Keeley will be sending you pictures and I think we have our photographer.
Today's ride met at St.Peter's and was approched by I believe the Pastor who offered to arrainge a group blessing, similar to what they do in NY. He would like it to encompass all the groups who ride out of St. Peter's and suggested a date around Memorial Day.If I see any of the other groups I'll approch them about it.
Today's group: the gals,Kathy B.,Nancy P.,Chris T.,Eloise,and Olga
the guys,Carl,John V,Rich C.,and myself.
We left about 9:10 and traveled Christopher Mill Rd. to Tuckerton Rd. thru Barton Run,around the big horse shoe that's Kings Grant, caught some head wind on the back side of Kings Grant and again wind on Tomlinson Mill Rd.The group maintained a very good pace line as we continued on thru Taunton Lake,Mimosa Lakes, up E.Centenial ,thru The Bluff to JacksonRd..Pedaled our way to Atsion Rd. in sunshine enjoying spring blossoms and peacefulness.
The weather got dark and windy,Nancy mentioned that it was as if fall had returned,so I decided to make Wawa at OakShade and IndianMills Rd. the turn around desination, however I put a twist on getting their. We traveled down Atsion Rd. past GrassyLake to make a left on Steamboat, over to Breckenridge where we stopped a the entrance of an equistrian center for a group picture. After Wawa we retuned on McKeninmenRd. and MedfordLakes.
I clocked 29miles in 3 hours 24 minutes, others had 30 miles. Overall it was a much better ride than the day before, hope I wasn't to long in the report,if so be sure to tell me. Bill
Thursday - Bill's ride from Lumberton
Hey Maggie, I know you like a report on rides sometimes so here's today's. Joining me were Kathy B.,Olga,Duke,Rich C.,and two John's,Palaitis, and D. Things went smooth until the wind became a little to strong for the leader(me)and the ride was shortened. We had a nice break at the bakery and finished with about 20 miles in
2hrs.35minutes .Tomorrow we go out of St. Pete's , hopefully with less wind. Bill-
